Welcome! Below is information for the 2025 Marching Season.

Interested in joining the DHS Marching Band? Follow these steps!

  1. Complete the Marching Band Registration Form and pay deposit https://forms.gle/Y3uNGxj1XdYRk11X7
    1. Pay dues in full (see dues information below), AND
    2. Complete your FinalForms account profile, sign the waivers, and upload your physical forms (see instructions below). Physicals must be dated after August 2024.
  2. Join the BAND App – Join the ‘Dunwoody HS Bands’ group on your smartphone or desktop by following this link. https://band.us/n/a6a9A6W4u3m9m
  3. Review the Marching Band Guidebook: Please read this guide book to prepare for the marching band season. FinalForms for Sports / Marching Band:  DeKalb County Schools has moved to FinalForms!

FinalForms is an electronic medical records platform that, in the event of a medical emergency, gives DCSD staff, ENTs and medical professionals the needed information to treat and/or transport your student for treatment. All medical information must be completed before band camp. Instructions:

  1. Log in as a parent at https://dekalbschools-ga.finalforms.com/
  2. Add Sports – Marching Band may not yet be listed, but you can proceed with completing the sports forms anyway.
  3. Update Forms – Read through and complete the required forms. (If student signatures are required, your student will automatically be prompted to log in and sign after you complete all forms.)
  4. Preparticipation Physical Evaluation – Complete your PPE, which consists of printing the and taking it, with your child, to a doctor for examination. TURN IN only the completed and signed Medical Eligibility Form. The athletic administration will update your student’s Physical expiration date with the new one.
  5. Pending Admin Approval – If you see this status, it indicates the Administration is still expecting you to turn in one or more paper forms.

 

Marching Band Season Overview

2025 Band Camp Dates!

Band Camp will take place at DHS and is mandatory for anyone wanting to march in the show. All Marching Band Dues are expected to be paid in full by band camp. Please contact the band boosters with any concerns about Band Dues.

  • 7/14-18: Pre-Camp (9am-1pm Winds, 9am-3pm for Leadership and Guard/Percussion)
  • 7/21-25: Band Camp (Monday-Thursday 12-9pm, Friday 12-5pm)
  • Thursday, 7/24: Community Performance
  • 7/29: Drum Mini Camp, 11am-5pm
  • 7/30: Guard Mini Camp, 11am-5pm
  • 7/31: Winds Mini Camp11am-5pm
  • 8/4First Day of School!

2025 Rehearsal Schedule (from August 5th through end of October)

  • Mondays, 4:00pm-6:00pm, Sectionals for All Members
  • Tuesdays, 6-9pm, Rehearsal for All Members
  • Thursdays, 3:45pm-6:15pm, Rehearsal for All Members

2025 Game Days and Competitions

  • DHS Football Schedule
  • Friday Games: We attend all home and away DHS Football Games.
  • Competitions: We plan to compete in two competitions and one exhibition. Stay tuned for dates.

DUES FOR 2025 SEASON

  • All dues must be paid in full prior to band camp
  • NOTE:  Register and pay $200 deposit by May 9 for a $25 discount off full dues!
  • Marching Band and Color Guard Dues are $650 (Members needing new shoes pay an additional $40)
  • Payments should be made to the DHS Band Boosters in one of the following ways:
    • PayPal (@DHSbands)
    • Venmo (@dunwoodybands)
    • Check (made out to DHS Band Boosters, either mailed to PO Box 888934, Dunwoody 30356 or given to Sarah Grant, Treasurer)
    • Cash (given to Sarah Grant, Treasurer)
  • Dues pay for:
    • Band Shirt
    • Water jug
    • Section instructors
    • Instrument repairs
    • Meals before games/competitions/camps
    • Show music
    • Field props
    • Uniforms and cleaning
    • Parent Band Booster Club membership (includes car magnet!)
    • Note: Dues do not cover the following:  black tank top, compression shorts or socks, any lost items that must be replaced (band shirt, water jugs, balloons), end of season party, black binder with pager protectors, secret pal gifts

HEAT / WATER POLICY 

  • DeKalb County School District recommends official water break every 30 minutes conducted near shaded water stations. All students are to bring their water jugs and water coolers for refill are provided. Shade is provided with two 9×9 tents. 
  • The onsite DHS trainer conducts extreme weather and wet bulb monitoring

ATTENDANCE POLICY

All students are expected to attend all rehearsals. If an absence is necessary, Mr. Hutcherson should be notified via email ASAP, but no later than the end of school the day of absence. Performances are mandatory unless there is prior expressed permission from Mr. Hutcherson.
