Here’s what you need to know this week.

Please take note of key updates for Spring semester. This week we’ve added several important dates, especially the Mattress Fundraiser and Marching Band Spring Camp dates.

UPDATED! All Roads Lead to Dunwoody. March 17, 4:30pm report to DHS Band Room All Spring Concert Band members will be participating in this fun event with elementary and middle school students from the Dunwoody cluster. This is an important event that will require good representation of Dunwoody Bands. If you are unable to attend due to prior commitments, please notify Ms. Caputo.
4:30pm: Students report to DHS Band Room to rehearse with PMS Band 5:15pm: Students report to Football Field for performance 5:30pm: Music Performance 5:45/6:00pm: Students dismissed
Attire: Students will be wearing their Red Dunwoody Band Shirt to this event. All students that have paid their concert band dues should have received their shirts from Ms. Caputo. If you still need to pay your dues or receive a t-shirt, please contact Ms. Caputo.
UPDATED! Kroger Fundraiser. March 19, 1- 4pm at Orchard Park Kroger Jazz Band will perform from 1-2pm, and Pep Band & Drumline will perform 2-4pm in front of the Kroger. This event is an easy way for us to raise funds AND a great opportunity for our Band students to be seen and heard by our Dunwoody community. Students – especially MB and CG participants – we need you there to help with collecting donations! Even if you are not playing an instrument on that day – please make an effort to stop by and help. We are raising funds for YOU! Please share this with everyone you know and stop by and support our band students!
Mock LGPE Concert. March 23, 6:00-8:00pm at DHS (5pm call time for students) Spring Concert Band and Percussion Ensemble students will perform and work with a clinician on stage!
NEW & IMPORTANT! Parent Meeting. March 24, 7pm at DHS During this in-person parent meeting, we will discuss the big Mattress Sale Fundraiser scheduled for April 30. Ms. Caputo is asking that every Concert Band student and Marching Band student has parent(s) attend this meeting. The fundraiser company will give us $5 for every adult in attendance. The mattress sale fundraiser will be our big fundraiser for the Spring, so please put this meeting on your calendars and plan to attend in person!
Spring Solo & Ensemble DHS Recital. April 14, 6:00pm at DHS Prior to the GMEA Solo & Ensemble event on April 23 (see below), students participating in Solo & Ensemble will have a recital for their friends and family.
Car Wash Fundraiser. April 16, 11am-3pm at Village Burger in Dunwoody ALL DHS Band students are welcome to come join the fun as we wash cars and make some money for the Band program!
Spring Jazz Band Concert. April 21, 7pm, Location TBD As if Jazz Band isn’t sweet enough, our performance with the PMS Jazz band will include a dessert reception!
GMEA Spring Solo & Ensemble. April 23, General Ray Davis Middle School Spring Solo & Ensemble is an opportunity for all Dunwoody High School band students to perform solos, duets, trios, etc. for a rating.
NEW! Marching Band Leadership Workshop. Save the dates (below)! All students interested in auditioning for a leadership position are expected to attend the workshops. We’ll be learning leadership techniques and applying them in our rookie camp events. In addition to participating in the workshop, an audition packet and recommendation letters must be submitted. * April 27, 3:30-6pm * April 28, 5-8pm * May 12, 5-8pm * May 19, 5-8pm
NEW! Marching Band Spring Camp. April 28, 6-8pm at DHS All students interested in joining the DHS Marching Band for the 2022 season are invited to attend this event. We will learn marching techniques, learn pep tunes, and begin preparing for the 2022 season.
NEW! Marching Band Rookie Camp. April 28, May 12 & May 19th, 6-8pm at DHS All new students interested in joining the DHS Marching Band are invited to join this event. We will learn marching techniques, playing techniques, and begin preparing for the 2022 season.
NEW! Marching Band Parent Meeting. April 28, 8pm at DHS Join us for a parent meeting to learn more about the 2022 Marching Band season! Reserve your drill spot in the competition marching band show by paying your dues deposit. Early bird discount special if paid this evening!
NEW! Mattress Sale Fundraiser. April 30, 10am-5pm in DHS Cafeteria Please advertise to everyone you know – and plan to join us for our Mattress Sale Fundraiser event to help raise money for Dunwoody Bands! Join our Mattress Sale meeting March 24 to learn more!
Spring Band Concert. May 3, 7:00pm at DHS Spring Concert Band students will be performing the final concert for all families and friends to attend. More information to come.
Fine Arts Banquet. May 4, 6:00pm in DHS Cafeteria For students that participate ANY band ensemble throughout the year, Dunwoody Band holds an annual awards banquet in the spring. This year we will be combining the banquet with the other Fine Arts programs, and it will be a special evening for everyone.
NEW! Marching Band Percussion Camp. May 5, 9, 10, 12, 16, 17 & 19th, 4:30-6pm at DHS All percussion students who want to audition for drumline and front ensemble positions are expected to attend camp with percussion instructor, Mr. Coheley.
NEW! Marching Band Color Guard Camp. May 16, 17 & 19th, 4:30-6pm at DHS All color guard students who want to audition for color guard positions are expected to attend the color guard camp with the colorguard instructor.
Marching Band Camp. August 1-5, 12-9pm at DHS Save the date! Marching Band Camp for the 2022-2023 school year will take place at Dunwoody High School on August 1-5 from 12pm to 9pm (with dinner breaks from 5-6pm). On Friday we will have a family dinner and show preview. Heads up: Make sure you have your annual medical / physical forms completed by your physician before band camp begins! Note: Balances from the 2021 season must be paid (or payment plan in progress) before joining Marching Band for the 2022 season.

Concert Band Dues Reminder. Concert Band dues are $60, payable to DHS Band Boosters by PayPal (@DHSbands), Venmo (@dunwoodybands), cash or check. Thank you to those who have already paid!
Corporate Sponsors. We need your help with gaining sponsorships for our DHS Band program.
