Homecoming 2021- Get ready for a busy week!

Hello Parents & Students!
I hope you all had a great weekend! We have an exciting week coming up with lots of fun activities planned for Homecoming. Check out SGA’s Spirit Week dress-up themes for each day of the week. We will have practice on Tuesday 3:30-6:00pm. Thursday we will have our Homecoming parade then have some fun at the inaugural Homecoming Festival! Friday we will have Wildcat Walk in the morning, practice from 3:30-5:30pm (like last week, you will not go home after school), and we will be performing our halftime show POST game (since we will be playing for the Homecoming court during halftime).
We are just a couple weeks away from our Fall concert on October 28 at 7pm! Please continue to sign up to volunteer, decorate or donate in the Sign Up Genius Link for the Fall Concert event.

We hope everyone enjoyed their Fall Break! We have a busy couple of weeks ahead, with the Homecoming parade this Thursday, Homecoming game this Friday, the DCSD Marching Band Exhibition next Tuesday, October 26 and fall concert next Thursday, October 28.
Marching Band Volunteers. Thank you to our volunteers who helped serve dinner and chaperone the game on Friday. Special thanks to our senior moms who came to serve dinner and to Mr. Roach for pulling the trailer! Please consider volunteering for one of the upcoming events. We especially need chaperones and someone to pull the trailer for the October 26 Marching Expo. October 26: DeKalb (DCSD) Marching Expo. @ James R. Hallford Stadium in Clarkston. Adult tickets are $5. Students will stay after school, and we will feed them dinner and take buses to the event, which starts at 5:00pm. We will return to DHS around 10:00pm. Please sign up to chaperone or pull the trailer in the sign-up link above.
October 28: Fall Halloween Concert at 7pm in the DHS Cafeteria. Students report at 5:50pm, fully dressed in your costumes for 6pm dress rehearsal in the cafeteria. Doors open at 6:45pm for friends and family. Freshmen and Sophomores: bring something sweet (dessert) to share. Juniors and Seniors: bring something salty/savory to share. DHS Booster Board will provide drinks. We still need help with Volunteers, Donations and Decorations. Friday, November 5th is Senior Night at the DHS Football Game vs Duluth (dunwoodybands.us18.list-manage.com/track/click?u=5e6dcb1443502b7d964068adb&id=d2eb9c5e45&e=7294eeb7f3) at North Dekalb Stadium. We’re so excited to honor and recognize our Marching Band seniors leading up to the game in several ways, but we need your help:
1. TAKE THE SURVEY – In the week leading up to the game, we will highlight each senior on our Facebook page. Students, please fill out this 5 minute form by Wednesday, 10/20. PAY $10 – We’re asking each senior to contribute $10 for a surprise keepsake that they will receive at the game. Please send payment via Venmo @DunwoodyBands by Wednesday 10/22/21 (be sure to include your Senior’s name). 3. RSVP FOR DINNER – Mad Italians will be catering a special Senior Dinner in the DHS cafeteria, before the game. Senior parents and siblings are welcome. Be on the lookout for an e-mailed invitation with RSVP link later this evening. We need final responses by Friday, October 29.
November 6: White Columns Invitational Marching Competition. @ Milton High School. Students will arrive at DHS in the morning for practice prior to departing for the event. Our performance time is 2:40pm. More information to come.
November 11: End of Season Party – Save the Date! Mark your calendars for the end-of-season bowling party on Thursday, November 11 at Bowlero in Norcross. We will send a link to RSVP and purchase tickets ($20 per person) in the next newsletter.

Treasurer Needed. Our Treasurer, Mrs. Trish Cronin, is the mom of a senior, so we are looking for a new Treasurer. We would like the new Treasurer to work alongside Mrs. Cronin for the remainder of this school year to make it an easy transition. If you are organized and good with numbers, and you are willing to help an hour per week during Fall semester and an hour per month during Spring semester, we would love to talk with you!
