Fall break is almost here!

Band students/parents, please remember to mark your calendars with the following events:
October 26, Dekalb County Marching Expo: We will perform our show and receive evaluations from judges on the performance. This will give us the comments and feedback we need to improve our show before the competition at the end of the season. It will be held at James R. Hallford Stadium in Clarkston. Adult tickets are $5. Students will stay after school and we will take buses to the event, which starts at 5:00pm. We are the 7th band to participate and students should return to DHS around 10:00 pm. More info to come.
October 28, Concert Band Fall Concert: Students will report at 6:00 pm for a 7:00 pm start, attire will be costumes. We are looking for Halloween or fall-theme decorations! If you can loan decorations and/or help set them up, please contact Ms. Caputo.
November 6: White Columns Invitational, Marching Competition. We will be attending this competition at Milton High School. Students will arrive at DHS in the morning for a practice run prior to departing for the event. Our performance time is 2:40pm. More information to come.
From your Band Booster Board
It was great to see and hear our Marching Wildcats perform the first movement of Pathways at the Chamblee game Friday night! This week is going to be a short one, with DCSD Fall Break starting on Thursday, October 7. Ms. Caputo will be communicating this week’s practice schedule, via e-mail or Remind.
Thank you again to all of our game volunteers! As a reminder, we expect each family to volunteer for at least one game during marching band season. Making our Friday nights run smoothly truly takes a village and we appreciate the many hands that make lighter work for each of us. An extra special thank you goes out Mr. Torjak for pulling the band trailer! On that note, we have additional needs for trailer duty at our upcoming marching competitions- those dates have been added to the sign-up genius.

Treasurer Need: Our Treasurer, Mrs. Trish Cronin, is the mom of a senior, which means she will be leaving the position at the end of this school year. We would love to have someone work alongside Mrs. Cronin for the remainder of this school year to make it an easy transition. If you are organized and good with numbers, and you are willing to help an hour per week during Fall semester and an hour per month during Spring semester, we would love to talk with you!
